A sensational Montefalco Sagrantino red wine certified with the highest honor, DOCG. The Villa Mongalli winery produces this magnificent wine called Pozzo del Curato using only 100% pure Sagrantino grapes. The Sagrantino "Pozzo del Curato" has an exceptionally refined nose that, after an initial grilled note, unfolds confidently with sensations of berries, cigar tobacco, and nutmeg. The wine also boasts an important "Gambero Rosso-Slow Food 2008" award, where it earned a national score of 725 points out of 1,000. The grapes are grown on loose, rocky soil, with a southwest exposure and an altitude between 350 and 400 meters above sea level. The vineyards have a planting of approximately 5,000 vines per hectare and a yield of 55 to 60 quintals per hectare. The average lifespan of the vines is 10 years and they are harvested in mid-October.
